can you ever see someones true face?

its so weird how everyone and everything perceives looks, I mean I in my own eye sight can look one way and through a mirror its slightly altered and then a camera is even more different. How can one face look different 3 times. do people see 1 face the same or is that also different? can 2 people see the same face in an altered way to each other? why is it so hard to see what a singular face truly looks like.
