First day on SpaceHey

HELLO my name is AJ and welcome to my blog!!!

I just finished customizing my SpaceHey profile after a very long 6 hours, honestly it was much easier than I thought it would be. 4 days was what I was expecting, but I still have some work to do.

If you aren't coming here from my profile, I urge you to check it out. I think I did a pretty good job considering I barely used code from the existing layouts. However this is just the beginning of my stay on this platform. Not to brag but I know quite a bit of CSS and HTML so I hope to use my skills to create a pretty good looking profile; and I hope to use this site's blog feature as a way to write more often and get my thoughts out into the world.

With that being said as someone who never got to experience MySpace in its prime; I think SpaceHey is a great breath of fresh air from the fast paced, instant gratification, algorithmic, advert riddled, cesspool of negativity, that is the current state of social media. I myself am using it as (hopefully) a permanent replacement. Through my own experience I've come to the conclusion that modern platforms are often a distraction from the beautiful world around us, and with the rise of AI, algorithms are only getting better at learning what will keep our eyes glued to a screen. In moments like this I believe that the best course of action is to take a step back, both physically and metaphorically. The regression into older forms of social media is exactly what the world, and this generation, needs if we're gonna keep our brains from turning to mush. I also believe that it's very important for people to find a way to express themselves, it's for this reason that I've decided to start this blog. And so whether through art, music, martial arts, or writing, I urge YOU to go pick up some sort of creative hobby.

With that being said I'd like to talk about what will likely be the contents of my blog. I'll be writing about what comes to my mind throughout the day, or opinions on topics that I hold very dear to my heart. I'll also be talking about any news I find relevant within the political, musical, or gaming spheres. If you're interested in poetry I'll also be occasionally posting some that I write so do look forward to that! What I will not be discussing is anything in my private life so if you came here to get a peep into my day to day you're out of luck. However I hope that through my posts some of you will feel seen and heard.
