Posting Vents Shouldn't be Seen as a Bad Thing

Sometimes its the only way to get things out. I (and many others i know) have parents that could be a bit nosy at times. If they find a diary they won't hesitate to read through it. And y'all know what kind of things parents could do if they found their kid talking crap about them.

On a phone/computer, it is so much easier to remove the evidence of your vents vs if one's parents simply said "give me your diary." Also, you don't even need to delete the blog to hide it from someone going through your things. I'll you need to do is remove it from your history and log out of your account. And when you know its safe, you could just log back in and none of your memories are gone. If your parents knew about your physical diary the only way to prevent them from reading your secrets would be to destroy it or get rid of it.

If someone posts their vent online it opens up the conversation to people they may not know in real life. This makes it so much easier for some to feel more comfortable reaching out. I know that some people would absolutely hate people irl knowing their struggles and that it would make things much more awkward between them. For people who can't see a therapist for whatever reason, it allows them to get help (or just simple words of advice) without having to deal with that awkward feeling from having to see them again. Persoanally, when people I can look at know what i'm feeling, it just makes me feel like they can't see me the same way and i cannot enjoy time with them the same way I used to. The anonymous nature of the internet completely removes that.
