is individuality dying?

why is everyone so minimalist and nonchalant now? (not on this website but in reality) everyone wants to seem cool by being all distant and alpha and all that but doesn't that sound like you're pushing away feelings too much? i mean we are supposed to be human, aren't we?

where have the bold fits, colours, personalities disappeared? everything just seems so boring and grey, ugh. it's like ppl don't have their own persona anymore, their likes and interests are solely based on what's trending on social media and algorithmic feed, even if it's something simple like soda or a song. where are individuals with different tastes and opinions? same phone, same fit, same drink, same behavior... girl like what makes you different from the others?

i wish ppl were more expressive and individually themselves now, instead of being detached from ppl and being too mainstream to a point almost everyone is the same.

what are your takes on this?

It’s just a consequence of late-stage capitalism. Everything moves fast, everyone wants everything, and individualism makes you be okay with anything going on as long as you have a plate of food and some phone to watch tik tok for 2 hours. You have to be like everyone in order to be controlled, and you can’t be different or they will shame you (or take you down if you are in a third world country). I saw a comment talking about how natural it was from us, but I don’t think it like that. Also, if you like sociology, Pierre Bourdieu explained how culture was used to divide social classes, and it could really explain why now everyone looks for a rich or “silent rich” or whatever the fuck it was lol look! You should check it out

Think of it like this. Some people are born to be mindless sheep following along whatever is ordained for them. It's alright to stare, but I wouldn't judge.

I actually genuinely can't stand it. I use public transportation and I can't tell people apart, is that the same guy that was standing there just now,, is this the girl that got on the bus two stops ago or was she here the whole time?????? I CAN'T tell people apart, they are THAT same looking, I wish I was joking. I recognize the new trends thanks to people on public transportation, they all start to wear the same things at the same time.
I feel absurd leaving the house because I know for a fact that people around me think I'm weird, they probably ask to themselves why I look the way I look, cause god forbid I don't follow the trends and look exactly the same with everybody. I'm not even gonna talk about people's opinions on things becoming ONE as well, I get called weird on a daily basis because I don't like what everyone else likes lately.
