long time no see. I've risen from my hiatus of blogging, though I don't know how long it will take for me to post again after this, since I don't have that much to share to yall. Things have been pretty stale and I've literally done nothing else but eating, sleeping and finding new music.
Nevertheless I've had this haul blog on its way for around 2 months by now so oops :d. At least I got to it now and not later haha. Anyways in that time I gathered my thoughts about most of the albums to kinda have my opinions about them. This haul consists of me getting cds from two different occasions, The first part is all the cds I actually got gifted when a relative of mine heard that Ive started to collect cds recently so he wanted to gift me some albums he knew I would like (bang on btw). The second part is just albums that I have recently bought from a record store or discogs. Without further ado heres the haul! :
1st part
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - So divided
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Howl
Tori Amos - From the choirgirl hotel
Foals - Antidotes
Iron Maiden - Brave new world
2nd part
Buenas Vistas Social Club - Ibrahim Ferrer
Santana - Caravanserai + Welcome
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - The century of self
Cameron Winter - Heavy metal

First of all I want to say how well picked the albums were that I got gifted. I had never heard of these bands (counting out Iron Maiden) and I ended up liking every single one in their own way. I can't really single out one that stuck out the most, but I feel like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club made an good impression on me, since I don't usually go out to listen to the type of music they make. I also enjoyed The trail of dead (not typing full name), so much so that I found their album "The century of self" from a record store, and bought it without knowing that one of the gifted albums was from them ;D. Anyways amazing picks, I really recommend trying them out if you like to venture out in sound, since all the bands mentioned in the first part sound very original.
The rest of the albums (minus Heavy metal by Cameron Winter) I had bought for only 8€! I can't believe that I got such a good deal from a record store. Its like I got four different albums for 2 euros each which is crazy. Recordshopx is the goat fr. Anyways I've recently been getting into progressive a lot, so finding something like "Caravanserai" for so cheap was a very nice find. Santana isn't mainly a proge band, but this specific album corporates proge pretty well which I was happy about since I really wanted to have more proge in my collection to listen to. Buenas Vistas Social Club in the other hand has to be my favourite southern american band I've found. For some reason I thought they only ever released their self titled album, but finding Ibrahim Ferrer I knew for sure that I wasn't going to skip it. I heavily recommend trying out these two bands.
And I saved the best for last (imo). Cameron Winter's Heavy metal. This one I had to buy online, since at the time I couldn't buy it locally anywhere. Now while making this blog I found out that it was in stock locally in Helsinki ;-;. Anyways this album is one of the best albums I've heard from the 2020's. I like to do this thing with albums, where I find 3 back to back songs and rate albums by that measurement, and Heavy Metal easily is the best album for that. Starting from the song "Nausicaä (Love Will Be Revealed)", in the middle "Love Takes Miles" and ending it with "Drinking Age" is a 3-piece that I probably will never get bored of. Also having a Nausicaä reference wins points in my book, since that is my favourite ghibli film created. I almost yapped more about this album than any of the others in this haul but trust me it is that good. If there is one album I recommend trying out it is this one.
Thats the end of the haul! Sadly I won't be posting another one for a while, since I have other things to take care of. I do get some cds here and there, but I have to save up money for other things now, so I have to restrict myself from visiting the record stores (I am not addicted I swear).
Hopefully you enjoyed my yappings yet again, stay safe yall!
