Okay hear me out, idc if you just like the music. Personally, it sucks but you do you girl. I mean the kpop stans (especially stays) that are in some parasocial relationship with their idols like what?
Because fym some random 30 yo grown ass man from the other side of the world is ''your baby''?
I had a friend who was a kpop stan who once invited me over and started showing me all the album photos LIKE GIRL IDC ABOUT SOME FELIX OR ANY OTHER GUY I DOMT REMEMBER THE NAME OF.
It only got worse when she expected me to also fangirl over them? Like I had to act all horny when she showed me 100 photos of those guys and once again- THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME (for me b4 yall get mad) it was so uncomfortable istg but i just went along so it wouldn't be dry
And i find the whole kpop obsession pretty unhealthy and very weird. I know this time it's not the kidols fault but still- why are some 12 year olds simping for them, treating them like babies, which k-idols are taking part in by acting like kids.

You're absolutely right about most things, but this type of fangirling also happened with a lot of boy bands in the 2000s (think NSYNC*, the Backstreet Boys, etc). This has been around for an incredibly long time, and even though it's unhealthy, I can see why your friend is so obsessed
Ikr but since 2018 I've never seen anyone be so obsessed with any other artists as much as kpop fans are. And idk maybe I just find diffrent people but even when I met some1 who had obsession on some other band they never made me learn members or shit like thay
