Uma pequena introdução

Nos últimos meses entrei de cabeça nos universos alternativos que envolvem o casal Polin (ship de Penélope Featherington/Bridgerton e Colin Bridgerton).

Na verdade, esse sempre foi o meu casal favorito da série de livros, desde que li toda a coleção durante minhas férias escolares de 2016. Uma parte por poder acompanhar toda a dinâmica deles desde o primeiro livro. Já que inicialmente, eles mantêm uma relação como conhecidos, pois Penélope era melhor amiga de uma das irmãs de Colin, mas após alguns anos eles evoluem para amigos e assim que se aproximam mais se apaixonam. Então temos uma dinâmica de amigos que se apaixonam (dinâmica que dura mais de 10 anos pra acontecer!!!!!) e que amadurecem juntos. A outra razão para que eles sejam o meu casal favorito é exclusivamente pela Penélope, que foi uma das primeiras personagens não magras que eu li em de livros de romance. Então, ela tem um papel fundamental para mim no que diz respeito a representação de corpos não magros e em como podemos ter desenvolvimentos amorosos.

Porém, apesar de todo esse significado e importância de Penélope e de Colin para o meu entendimento de que pessoas gordas também podem viver romances, eu nunca tinha lido nenhuma fanfic do casal, o que percebendo agora é bem estranho pois eu sou completamente viciada em ler fanfics. 

Então aqui vão 5 fanfics que li desde janeiro deste ano. 

1) Começando as indicações com essa fanfic que me deixou fascinada pois expandiu muito os horizontes da minha imaginação (no que se refere a Polin). Nela, o casal ainda está na adolescência e a Penélope é amiga da Eloise, o que acontece na maioria das fanfics, porém, entretanto, todavia nossa querida protagonista é uma menina gótica! Juro que isso me pegou de surpresa e me deixou viciada desde o começo, mas a parte ruim é que ainda não está finalizada e a pessoa que escreve não atualiza desde o dia 25 de janeiro :( Mas essa é a única da lista que não está finalizada, todas as outras 4 foram devidamente concluídas!

RESUMO: "She just glanced around the kitchen, taking things in, her expression blank, then leaned against the counter next to the kettle, picking at the chipped black nail polish on her fingers.

“Alright?” Colin offered, around a bite from the corner of his toast.

She met his gaze, making his stomach twist and the hair on the back of his neck stand up. Her eyes were icy blue, and they seared right through him. With the barest nod, she looked back down at her hands, as though Colin were no more noteworthy than the kettle beside her.

“Colin — Penelope,” Eloise introduced, grabbing some water from the fridge. Penelope’s eyes flicked up from her fingers again, but to Eloise this time, that was the only indication he got that she heard.

2) Essa daqui é TÃO preciosa! Além de ter Colin cowboy e Penélope escritora Não foi a primeira coisa que li dessa pessoa mas claramente todas suas histórias são incríveis e merecem sua leitura. Porém essa fanfic em particular me deixa com aquela sensação gostosa de borboletas na barriga, bochechas coradas, sorriso bobo e cabeça nas nuvens. Ela é tão, mas tão boa que já reli umas duas vezes (assim como boa parte dos outros trabalhos publicados).

RESUMO: "“Well, I heard in town that you were looking for some help digging a well. And I thought I might provide my services.”

Penelope stared at him. “Now why on God’s green earth would you want to do that?” she asked, more bluntly than was perhaps proper for a young lady. “We can’t pay you.” Their father had left them with almost nothing, save this land and the house they were standing on. It was a pretty nice house - better than some of the others in the area - but life was hard.

He shook his head and turned his hat over in his hands. “No, I didn’t expect you could. I hoped you might instead pay me in kind.”

Penelope’s cheeks flushed red and she looked down, her hands smoothing the faded yellow cotton of her day dress. She didn’t suppose he meant what it sounded like he meant, being a gentleman and all, but the idea of Colin Bridgerton taking that sort of payment from her made her cheeks hot.

3) A terceira indicada é uma delícia de história inversa, em que a família da Penélope e ela própria são super populares e queridos pela alta sociedade, enquanto os Bridgertons são meio cafonas e espalhafatosos. Gostei muito dessa fanfic pq colocou a Penélope como uma menina gorda e extremamente confiante! Enfim, leitura muito gostosa e divertida.

RESUMO: "What if the story was inverse?

Penelope Featherington is admired and highly sought after in society while being friends with the unfashionable and garish Bridgerton family. There is a special friendship of more than ten years with Eloise and Colin in particular since they are the siblings closest in age to her and her brother.

Yet what Penelope thinks is friendship is the deepest of unrequited love for Colin...until he overhears her put the final nail in his coffin of hope and he finally accepts that it's time to give up that dream.

4) Tasting the stars é uma das fanfics que em que acompanhamos Polin desde crianças e vemos eles crescerem, fortalecerem os laços de carinho e amizade e consequentemente se apaixonarem. São 6 capítulos super gostosos de ler e os outros trabalhos publicados também são incríveis! Vale a pena ler todos! 

RESUMO: "Penelope Featherington's first taste of champagne changes her life forever.

After that, champagne plays a role in multiple important events in Penelope's life.

Six times that Penelope and Colin drink champagne."
