the thing is that they're brain 🧠washed to think that ONLY their beliefs are real and completely ABSOLUTE, so their poor heart can't handle any other reality or thought (I mean, mostly, other religions/spiritual practices/beliefs can perfectly understand and accept others, and their differences without sending them to HELL or something like that)

Back in medieval times priests sometimes got in trouble for practicing magic against church rules, and the common people still believed in their pre-existing folklore although they were often very awkwardly merged with christian mythology.
Not believing in magic is a modern mindset, and recognized religions just sort of get a dismissing pass. As per why christians accept some magic and not other, I'd assume it has to align with the rules/magic system their mythology relies on to be seen as 'possible'.
