So last night i ended up down a small rabbit hole following a link left on a video that had more links to other places. Well among these links was a search engine proudly displayed alongside the likes of google, Kartoo.

So i click this link and the search engine loads up, i ask myself how i hadn't heard of it before. I look up the engine in duckduckgo and it pops up first link, but every other result has the same intonation, past tense. Kartoo "was" a popular search engine, "I miss Kartoo" a nostalgic article on Horkan.com. Even duckduckgo ai said it no longer exists, yet here it is partially working.

Now for the most part it does fully work, until you click on a link, then the link does this weird duplicate thing and my browser won't load it, eg "https://https://spacehey.com/".
I wouldn't actually click the links without caution.
I thought it was worth sharing this lovely relic from a time when companies could pride themselves on personality and distinction. After checking the whois on the domain, the domain was registered in 2010 around the time Kartoo shutdown. The domain was updated last march and is set to expire this month.

If you want to check it out, i highly encourage you to while you still can. It genuinely made me feel like a kid again.
