(last rant blog(?) for now because I don't want my cortisol to spike so hard again)
something about this app man, it's become degraded perhaps even past the point of instagram and tiktok's sludge and there's just SOMETHING about this app that spikes my cortisol, doesn't seem like i have much in common with really most people here one bit.
and it seems like it's just the same thing as everywhere else now, nothing special, so why even bother with it then, you know?
to me it seems like this app is a failure of an "experiment" to make an "alt messaging app" but in reality just got flooded with randos with no cohesion or standards, which makes it just instagram battleground #24585771662685
not to mention it seems like a constant battle for attention over who has the most orbiters in their dms or pretty decorations in their friends list.ย
as far as i can see, it's just colonized by the GRAM... like everywhere else, and the same culture that exists on there, of toxicity, ragebaiting, and attention seeking.

i want to use spacehey as a main social media and stop using apps like tiktok, instagram, snapchat, etc, but nobody is active i have 50 or so friends and i dont have any messages i dont see bulletins i wish there was a place to go where its just like the old web.

it was an experiment. that happened to get popular. you're not getting the old web back, however there still are some decent and interesting people on here.

Of course there is a point ! You guys have to stop thinking like that, the website is still kinda knew and yeah maybe a lot of people are shitposting but we have to change that yourselves, if everyone just leave after waiting for others to create something then yes, there will be no point. I'm kinda knew and just talk about things that you like lol.
i suppose the most negative and polarizing content is peddled towards me after all, due to the algorithms

Iโve had pretty good experiences with this site and Iโve met some cool people here, I mostly try to avoid a lot of the drama taking up the top blogs and just stick to reading bulletins/blogs made by friends.
That's how it is with me. I'm mostly unaware of most of the drama going on cause I'm only focused on my friend's bulletins and blogs.

You just gotta find a bunch of cool logs to subscribe to. Recents are bound to be full of spam of kids just posting "hi" or something stupid, popular blogs a lot of times are people arguing or complaining. I'm lucky to have made some friends here who post really good blogs ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ

i fully agree on this, also to add that all that "toxicity" and stuff you see it the most because you are looking for it and interacting with it, i personally don't see it at all... just like once in a blue moon, because i interact with the people i actually care for and the spaces that are actually meaningful to me, not just "top blogs" or "most popular" sections, i don't care one bit about popularity slop. I've been in the platform for 3 years! its all about who YOU choose to interact and surround yourself with!! its almost always a YOU problem!!!
