a day in my life #2

March 10th, 2026

Dear blog,

Today I arrived about 15 minutes late to class. You might think, "Wait, that’s not that bad…" and honestly, I would agree with you. However, it still managed to start a fight between me and my mom.

I overslept all of my alarms, and my mom woke me up about 10 minutes before class started. She was really mad that I overslept and was kind of rude to me about it. That made me react rudely as well, and I even raised my voice a little because I was pissed off. I’m not a morning person, and the first thing I heard after waking up was someone being angry at me, which definitely didn’t help my mood.

So I went to school in a very bad mood.

By the way, I later apologized to my mom via chat and again in person when she came home from work, so everything is fine now.

But anyway… I was late to school. It wasn’t actually that bad, though. Or maybe it was.

The first double period on Tuesdays is always Maths. However, my maths teacher wasn’t at school today because he was attending a seminar. Instead of cancelling the first two periods, the school gave us a substitute teacher and sent us to the computer room. Our maths teacher had sent us a website via Microsoft Teams with exercises about linear functions (our current topic), and we were supposed to work on them.

Well… only about six students were actually in class because many of the others didn’t show up for the first periods. Some people at my school don’t really take things seriously and think that if there’s a substitute teacher, they can just skip class.

Anyway, back to the math exercises: none of us actually did them. The computers were super slow, and honestly nobody cared about math at that moment. Mostly because we didn’t really have a teacher in the room. Yes, we technically had a substitute teacher, but he only came in to unlock the door and then left. So we were completely by ourselves. 
And that’s something that really annoys me about this school. Substitute teachers don’t really substitute classes because they already have their own classes to teach. Sometimes two teachers have to handle two classes at the same time because there simply aren’t enough teachers.

Pretty shitty situation, honestly.

And that was just the beginning of my school day.

The rest of the day was pretty okay. After the first break we had two double periods of social pedagogy. Nothing special happened there.

After school, I went straight home. I put my backpack away, relaxed for a few minutes, grabbed my car keys and drove to the supermarket because I wanted to buy myself something nice to drink. I got a Coke (zero sugar, zero caffeine) and an energy drink. I also spoiled myself with two delicious donuts. Back at home, I first ate some pasta with vegan minced meat (I’m vegetarian), and then I had the donuts for dessert. It was very yummy!

The rest of the day wasn’t very interesting. I’ve basically just been watching 2 Broke Girls the whole time.
