an EXTREMELY convincing clone of a Samsung Galaxy S5

One of the phones in the phone lot I talked a bit about in my previous blog was a Samsung Galaxy S5 with a smashed AMOLED display internally (the front glass was fine but the internal screen was completely grey with a few blotches of dead pixels and random colours), Today I went to test it and decided to put it in download mode (idk why, but i wanted to) yet every time I tried to put it in download mode, it would show up as "1234567890ABCDEF device" in adb and both heimdall and odin4 didn't recognise a Samsung phone in download mode. I opened the terminal on my laptop and ran lsusb to see that the S5 was being recognised as a "HTC MT65xx Android Phone" for some reason. I'm not gonna lie, it took an embarassing amount of time for me to realise it was saying that because it was a clone with a fake ID, vendor, and product info. Anyways, I opened it up to reveal that it was 100% a clone, the board looked nothing like a real S5 board and just as a little joke I decided to test if a fake S5 was water resistant like a real Samsung Galaxy S5. TLDR, it was not.

EDIT: I just realised the link of the photo of the S5 after I dunked it in water isn't showing up, sorry!
