Reading slump sucks. Every time life gets a bit too busy and I get a bit too tired, I find myself turning to different types of media to entertain myself when I'm off work, because I just can't keep pick a book up. I love music, I love movies and tv shows, I love writing but I miss the times when I would devour story after story.
After I left my parents' house, I feel like time runs out too fast and when I'm finally home I don't have the energy to sit with a physical book and eat it up like I used to, so I started reading e-books on my phone. It helped a lot, but at the end of the day: a reading slump is a reading slump, and when I get like this Emily Henry has been my savior to get me on track. So... naturally, my first book of the year is People We Meet on Vacation.
Right now I'm at 150 pages read, so that's something, and I've been enjoying the story. It has a lot of tropes like "friends to lovers", "slow burn", "opposites attract", so it's nice and easy to get into. A movie adaptation came out this year, so I can watch it after I finish the book if I want to. The only thing is that the guy they picked to play Alex is totally not how I pictured in my mind, so I'm actually ignoring the movie right now.
