i'm hosting a fundraiser!!

today i recorded the promo video for my charity jam session i'm hosting at a cafe at the beginning of april :) it's a fundraiser for the trans youth emergency project.

i'll write more about it in the coming weeks. i have to practice for it, i haven't had a full-fledged trumpet gig in months. i'm so out of practice... :<

but i graduated uni and i'm between jobs, so i have a lot of free time to rehearse. i'm also doing biweekly rehearsals for a local ska band.

unfortunately, my mental health has been really bad these past few days. i've been leaning a lot on unhealthy coping mechanisms.

i think with the state of the world, it's okay to be relying on coping mechanisms right now. not forever. but for right now. 

i have no idea what the future holds but it scares me.

i need to do something within my control!

which is why i'm hosting a fundraiser. i'm gonna play trumpet for 2 hours and raise money to help trans youth in kansas get their healthcare. and honestly, it's also because seeing a room full of people coming out to support this cause would make me feel supported as a trans person by my community.

i can't wait to start advertising it! i'm almost done making the video.
