Hey folks!
A rare daylight-hours post! I reckon this is the most time that I'll have to write something on here before I knuckle down and do some dissertation work. I was absolutely exhausted yesterday so I couldn't post about what I was up to. It was a pretty eventful day in terms of time I spent awake and busy. I accidentally slept through my alarms as I got stuck in what I call 'rapid cycle dreaming' in which I keep waking up and immediately falling asleep again into different dreams each time. I have a really hard time getting good, proper sleep but I'm working on it. I ended up waking up ten minutes before the football kicked off so I was having a mad dash to get it on the TV and grab a snack. It was potentially the most stressful match I've ever watched. It was 0-0 for the whole match, same through both halves of extra time, and went to penalties. Ended up with Celtic winning 4-2 in penalties and the Rangers fans properly kicked off, throwing flares into the Celtic stand and jumping Celtic players and staff on the pitch. It's really gross behaviour but I do find it a bit entertaining in a morbid way. I like to see sore losers losing.
After the football, which took far longer than anticipated, I had to quickly get ready to go see my friend's orchestra performance. I've never really been a guy for classical music but it was beyond epic to experience the sound of an orchestra in person. It feels like a sound bath. They were really pleased that my boyfriend and I came along since it was the first one we've ever been able to make it to. I definitely want to go to the next show. We also made plans to go hang out with them at their new place on Friday which I'm excited for because I've missed them a lot. Life gets so busy and nobody just shows up to hang out anymore. I wish people still did that.
As for today, I managed to wake up pretty early since my boyfriend's alarms woke me up. As tired as I was when I first woke up, I feel far more awake now. I made some pancakes for breakfast, showered, sorted out some more games for my Wii (broadly GameCube ones), ripped a Eurythmics CD that I got for 50 pence for my MP3 player, and headed off to the gym. I walked there and back since the weather is starting to calm down finally. My workout went well enough. I still feel a little self-conscious in the gym because I lift pretty light since my shoulders are absolutely shot to shit. I managed to shake the feeling off and I still feel good about going and doing the work.
I've done plenty more uninteresting stuff and won't bore you guys with the details. The rest of today is simply for working on my dissertation, doing some cleaning, and hopefully getting a good sleep at the end of it all. As always, I hope you're all doing well.
Kisses,
Luke
