So many haters on this platform

I feel like people can toe the line when it comes to expressing their dissatisfaction with modern social media and how it trickles onto this platform (i.e complaining about brain-rotted people) to the point where they're just straight up insulting people and being so negative on how people choose to express themselves on this platform. I saw a blog where this 16 yr old was complaining about people using blogs to shit-post and how people are "brain-rotted" and hence don't know how to use the app...well of course they won't know how to use the app, practically all of the younger generation z (and older generation alpha if they are even on this app...) were not conscious or old enough to be on Myspace in its glory, which includes the 16 yr old probably born in '09-'10 who is complaining about it in the first place...and it's like bro, you weren't there for that either, just because you learned the ropes here and how to properly treat a site that is so unique compared to the other dominating social media platforms that 90% of your generation grew up on doesn't mean you get to hop on some high horse and act like you're better than the rest of your generation. Because of the kind of social media younger gen z has been socialized with, it's only sensible that a majority of the generation, even with an interest of "internet nostalgia" and the whole 2000's internet and culture scene, will terribly butcher a lot of things. I've seen videos of younger gen z butcher 2010's trends where they'll mix in things that were trending in the late '10s with things that had stopped trending in 2014, and that's okay because they were young kids at the time, of course they're gonna fuck it up. Which goes to show how differently Spacehey will be treated compared to how MySpace was, since a lot of the people I see here are very young, like under the age of 20.

I don't really mean to be too critical here, just trying to say to offer grace to the people your age who are not using Spacehey the 'right way'. And if anything, the real message here is that although this is a site created to relive that MySpace era, because of how much the world has changed, with our internet culture, attention spans, COVID, and just...so much, Spacehey will never come close to what MySpace had, and it is in many ways, for the better.

I apologize for how disorganized this may be...this blog was kind of an immediate response to someone else's blog...I opened their blog after reading through that post, because although delivered harshly, they brought up points I agreed with, and their convictions were valid. It was only that blog specifically was just very disdainful in terms of how they viewed a lot of the people on this site. Because of the amount of this "ragebait" that people will reply with, which is basically the new word for trolling, I usually will check a user's profile and their blogs if the blog I saw was particularly provoking. But besides that, I don't mean to try and tell that user that their opinions are incorrect or that their feelings about this topic are invalid in any way, I did however want to speak on this subject because this seems to be a growing sentiment within younger Spacehey users that really care about maintaining the integrity about the nostalgic element that this site is supposed to provide.

I never got to be in myspace. That said, even though this is supposed to be reminiscent of it, the culture of a social media is done throug the ones who use it and their context. I don't think there's ever going to be something like myspace because that's in the past now. There's never going to exist the old IG or Twitter ever again neither. Same with any other social media. I think that's good in some ways and bad in others, but that happens with everything.

I like this place. I like commenting on peoples blogs and such. It's slower than other spaces and people write a lot. Idk, it's cool

Just read the same blog, it really struck some nerves with people to get so much attention. Modern internet has definitely left people feeling this compulsion "as i'd call it", to comment and involve themselves on posts. Not gonna deny myself as being an example too.
I agree Myspace was a different time and thing, different subcultures and gimmicks to gain attention. I'm very glad Spacehey didn't replicate the Top 8 feature, cause it was pretty detached to list your top 8 "friends". Personally i grew up on reading blogs, most people treat it now as more of a thought dump, than structured. Blogs were pretty similar to diaries where as now it's more like forum threads, where exchange has been encouraged. I'll point out the hater dude left his comments turned on, which to me says he wanted kick back, even if he says he thinks they're annoying.
