hello folks! (just me)
back at college this week and getting lots of schoolwork done... but in moments of procrastination i find time to mess around in this book. 110 pages! i'm used to much smaller books to work in, usually those canson mixed media books with 60 or so pages and the thicker paper. this time around, i'm working in this weird sketchbook with no spine i found at michaels

i decorated the crap out of the cover because i tend to do so... the book never ends up getting filled if i don't
take a peek inside!!

another little tradition of mine is to make what i like to call a "hello page." they always feature my original characters, typically standing around doing nothing in or posed up in a movie poster-esque fashion. these guys have existed for a whopping SIX YEARS now which blows me away. made them when i was only twelve and we had just gotten news about an "extended march break" in 2020... march is quite a few of their anniversaries of existence! in a partially fucked up partially wholesome way, i would consider them the reason i'm still sticking around to this day. holy yapfest though.. TL;DR i draw these same 7 guys a whole bunch and have for years :~3

i like putting stuff from other stuff in books to make them fuller because the visual of the book growing gives me an observable measurement of the time i spend doing what i love.. while i like digital art and my future career will be surrounding that kind of stuff, it always feels a lot more intimate to throw together a physical collection of art in a book that someone could hypothetically peruse

a lot of these were done the last week of february over my reading week, which was the same week i created my spacehey account! woo! painting directly on the paper was kind of scary initially because of the looming threat of the book absolutely imploding due to the lack of a spine, but the glue binding the pages together hasn't caused any problems yet and i'm nine pages in now, so hopefully it keeps up that spirit for me as it gets fuller.. also rex from future redeemed cos hes sexy ahaa

not entirely sure what this is but i drew it on a paper bag i got from the convenience store after spending like twenty dollars on candy because despite my ever-increasing age the majority of my spare funds go towards stickers and sweet treats ≽^•⩊•^≼

guy from pinterest and some tigeys cos they're super cool

some of these pages have conflicting stuff going on because i get very indecisive of what i want the book to be.. i love stuffing it with junk and using all sorts of markers and paint and pens and crayons in it but i also sometimes wish it was like those all-one-material sketchbooks that are just stuffed with great ideas that reflect the artist's every genius thought. sure, some of the stuff is brain vomit, but not the kind someone would necessarily pick up and think "woah this guy's mind is so boundless and creative." if i could do everything at once i would, but i think it would kill me so maybe its better that i can't ⊙﹏⊙

this however makes me feel good because i think it looks neat

speaking of brain vomit, my commute to campus is typically around 20-30 minutes each day, and cos i live in residence in one of the school's other campuses, i get to take a handy little school bus, and during the drive i like to listen to some music and draw literally anything that come to my brain. my last sketchbook had plenty of these pages, and they're typically done in a really light colour so i can go back later over top of them to highlight the drawings i like. often overwhelming to look at but i think thats the point..
that's generally what i've got by now!!
i skipped a few pages cos some of it is stuff i still want to go back to and fill in cos i skip some pages early if i'm with my classmates or on the bus because sometimes im feeling hermit-y and would prefer to not have people see what im up to..
last thing i want to share before i peace out is this candy i bought today which i can't decide if i like it or not..

genuinely who came up with this and why? i don't even like skittles gummies but i was with a pal and they pointed out that they're spicy and we were like wtf thats sick and twisted so naturally i needed to get them..
the "heat" is very mild and it almost sort of just feels like sour candy if you had taste buds in the back of your throat. the watermelon ones are honestly really tasty but the others are sort of weird.. the mango flavour is highly disappointing cos i really like mangoes and usually like mango candy but this kind of just tastes like shit >:~(
O.K. you guys (literally just me again) have heard enuff of all this so i hope you have a wonderful night and get some wonderful sleep!
