Melanie MartΓnez, accused of S'A on 2017 at the age of 20-21, following the release of CRYBABY, her debut album, what are your thoughts on her and her situation? Well, personally, I don't want to sound like I'm defending her. After all, as a victim of assault myself, I understand how it must feel to not be believed. However, Timothy Heller, the alleged victim, has been caught lying multiple times, and I have a strong feeling this situation could be the same. Before all of this, I really don't want to have any problems with anyone, as this topic is very sensitive for many people.Β
First of all, who is Timothy and how did she meet Melanie? Timothy is, or for the moment was, a small artist who became friends with Melanie around 2013 after Martinez's audition on The Voice. Melanie was 17, Timothy was 21. I feel like this detail is somewhat crucial, because their relationship was... really awkward, in my opinion. It was like a platonic romance, or something like that. From what I understand, they were kind of the flirty type. Anyway, Heller eventually made a statement later saying that she was S'Ad for her best friend, Martinez, who immediately responded to the tweets that night with a phrase that has generated a lot of controversy: "She never said no to the things we chose to do together."
It seems like a statement that confirms it to you, right? But I think people misunderstood it a bit. When she says "we chose," she obviously meant that consent was present.
I don't want to get into too much detail, but is there any way to know that Heller lied? Honestly, I think there is, but not many people want to hear it. And it's about dates. Timothy gave a date, but it clashed with something: Martinez was on tour at the time. So what did she do? She changed the date completely! That's Tim's first lie about the situation. I understand that you might forget the date since it most likely happened 2 years before; I even think everyone would understand. However, if you don't want to undermine your argument, you should just say you made a mistake, not create another date that makes more sense.
I've read many people saying that even though she changed a date, Melanie still said it happened, and I agree. But once again, she said Tim gave consent. But I won't talk about consent here, since obviously I don't know if it was true.
What I'm trying to say with this post is that Timothy sometimes doesn't make sense to me. She can first say she never smoked weed while underage, but a post from around 2010 shows her smoking it, not to mention her die-hard defenders, who have been excusing her obvious racist tendencies. By the way, her excuse of "I was born into an environment where it was normal to say it" is an even worse lie to me.Β Or when she started talking about her abuse, "sex is a hard topic to talk about for me." Please, didn't you do a full photoshoot about sexual fethishes?...
I believe the victim comes first, but unfortunately, there are many things about Tim that undermine her statement, namely her past lies, and lies she told while talking about her own situation...
I don't have much time to explain much more, but let's all delve into it. If we really want to accuse someone or defend someone do it with a strong foundation, I'd like ya'll to comment on things I can, or someone else can respond to, as long as you're respectful to me and my position in this situation. I also want to clarify that I'm not defending Melanie, but there are many more people who defend Timothy, and that's fine because it shows good morals. But some things need to be said. Cya'll. :)
