Sonic rant from main

Pumpkin Hill is so cool actually, I really love the entire like layout of the zone, and the soundtrack is amazing. But its so fucking hard for absolutely no reason, Sonic Adventure 2 is almost unreasonably difficult, it took me 5 days just to finish that one zone where you are trying to reach the end of the map in under 7 minutes because the Island is about to explode. I can't remember the name of it, but it was unreasonably difficult due to the fact that the HOMING ATTACK DIDNT EVEN WORK!!!! it only worked maybe 30% of the time.. which is just so... ugh. The homing attack rarely working makes the game almost .. not fun, and more annoying to play than anything. I love Sonic Adventure 2 it has a great plot and great playstyle (minus a few glitches) but honestly with how difficult pumpkin hill is i don't know if I'm gonna be able to get past it .. I'm so bad at sonic games even though they're my favorite games to play its so lame

BUT SERIOUSLY LIKE

i feel like sonic adventure 2 is almost as difficult as frontiers (gameplay wise) 

obviously considering the fact that I've managed to get through sonic adventure 2 faster than frontiers, sa2 isn't THAT hard but its still fairly difficult, but that should be like expected of a sonic game, most sonic games are rather difficult which is why they're fun for most people.. i think i am just so bad at the games that they arent fun for me T_T but like. yk its okay, the more i play the more likely i am to get better so.... idk 

frontiers is still my least favorite game i am 100% a koco hater i hate every quest i had to complete i hate the open world / open zone gameplay it isn't fun and i think that sega should NOT have jumped on that god awful bandwagon but i think my sonic frontiers opinions should be saved for another day yipyip

sonic colors is a good game. love it love the story love the design... HATE. the controls. the controls are horrible. literally 0/10 theyre impossible to navigate and impossible to use i hate them SOOO much. but i love the overall game and story. but i think that the story/game focuses too much on the nostalgia than it does the story. older sonic games focus on story because they dont have to worry alot about whether or not the story will sell unlike the newer games... which sucks because i feel like if they stopped focusing on nostalgia and whether the story will sell or not the new games would be really good and super fun

i love 06 aswell. 06 is my favorite sonic game by far i genuinely love the story and the overall design and gameplay is so fun. mephiles being named after mephistopheles who was known for manipulating people is such a nice detail too it rlly adds to the story 

also unrelated to my sonic 06 rant but awhile ago i read that tails uses sonics old gloves and shoes and thats why he has like.. bands wrapped around the base of his gloves and shoes so that they'll stay on which i think is SOO cool also bc it's literally canon and u can see in a lot of sonic media that tails has the bands wrapped around his gloves... i think tails and sonic have an adorable sibling relationship and i think it really adds to the overall charm of the sonic games... its super sweet and cute and!! ahhh 

also sonic prime was a SUPERR good sonic show i liked it alot... the second season was kinda a let down tho. kinda revealed everything in the first few episodes and the rest of the episodes was all repetitive and just .. filler basically not that great BUTTT i liked the show a lot probably my second favorite sonic show after sonic underground which ?? sonic underground not being apart of the canon universe is SOO upsetting i loved the siblings and the overall designs of the characters (other than amy.) i genuinely thought sonic underground was really interesting and i loved watching it i wish it was canon

Sonic 06 is one of the BEST sonic games ever, its one of the only sonic games that I've actually enjoyed playing while also enjoying the story. 

Did it have a lot of bugs? Yes, but what sonic game doesn't?? 

The only thing that was bad enough to judge the game off of was the plotholes and issues that the team had with keeping everything consistent, that is not a reason to judge the game itself tho. 

The debut of Silver was great, he's a super powerful character and is really cool!! I hope they do more with him in the future, because he's not really used for a lot. 

And Mephiles is a great villain, he's one of the best if im honest. I know that he was kinda specific to 06s storyline, but I really want them to do more with him. Hes a really cool character and he's got a neat design. 

In my opinion, Sonic 06 should be way more popular than it actually is. The story was NOT that bad, not bad enough for it to be super hated the way it is... The gameplay was iffy, but again, so many other sonic games had horrid gameplay and glitchy controls. I mean, FFS, in SA2 the homing attack only works maybe 60% of the time, which isn't good. 

The story could've been better yeah, but it was still more interesting than a lot of newer stories. It wasn't a horrible game, it just had its issues. The game would 100% be way more popular if it was so rushed, and everyone knows that. ITS SUCH AN INTERESTING GAME!!! The plot genuinely isn't that bad, yes, there are plotholes, but its not bad. 

I wish they did do more with Elise, rather than have her get kidnapped like every cutscene, it would've been much better if they used her more. She could've been really cool. 

Also the designs in sonic 06 were some of the BEST sonic game designs ever, i genuinely love them so much. 

Hating one game for having glitches is so hypocritical when almost EVERY sonic game back then had pretty bad glitches. 

i can only really understand why people hate it for the plot,, but even then the plot wasn't horrible?? 

Idk i am a sonic 06 lover and defender i will defend this game with my LIFE if i need to
