Since Congress has been dragging their feet slower than the walk of a paralytic polio survivor, it's made me wonder if we could all just band together and... pretend it didn't happen.
Obviously it would take a whole lot of work, but theoretically if people who mattered (like employers) just set back every schedule by an hour, then we could just continue our days as if nothing happened. Yeah, the time would be an hour ahead of what it should be, but you wouldn't have to plan for losing an hour of your day because the clocks say so, or have to adjust your body to the new time even though the only changes are really just superficial.
Fun fact: Daylight Savings was initially instituted during World War 1 (in the US at least) as a way to boost the economy by technically giving everyone more daylight hours without actually changing all that much. Now last time I checked it isn't 1918 anymore, so I think it's about time we do away with this little trend and if Big Guvmint(TM) won't do it, we'll find a way to do it.
