Let’s gooo, time to be active! Lol I gotta say I love how the old school look on spacehey extends to even the mobile app, which I didn’t know existed til now, somehow. But back on topic! For starters, hello to any elder alternatives out there, pls add me thnx. I’ve been feeling rather nostalgic, so I figured I’d try like, actually posting for once. What motivated me to log back in? Well, you know that one “It Wasn't a Phase!” Emo Activity book everyone is buying from Five Below? Yeah-I fell victim to it too, and now it’s in my hands. Lots of references to MySpace and blogging in there, and I just immediately was like “man I should actually use this site.” And then everyone clapped.
On that note, I think I’ll start blogging about nostalgia related things mainly—given that that’s my main purpose on spacehey. Like my own alt teen years, etc….for starters, I never had a MySpace, though, now part of me wonders if I did and just never used it? An old elementary school friend introduced me to it back in the day and I lurked his profile a lot, but I think adding strangers didn’t appeal to me at the time. I do remember a cosplay related MySpace existing though, and I had one when I became a teen but it’s long gone now. So maybe that’s why spacehey feels weirdly familiar regardless. Or I’m just thinking of other apps. Who knows!
I’ll probably find some of my actual 2000s items to post on here soon too. I still have some of my clothes and other things. It’s too bad I never really bought music! I used to be heavily into Avril Lavigne and Evanescence, and had a brief Tokio Hotel phase….god I even remember that it was 4th grade when my friend showed me his black parade cd and showed me the music video. I remember being so intrigued by all the characters on the back of the cd.
How early did you begin your own alt journey? What kind of alt kid were you? Do you still own stuff from that age? Tell me all about it!
