WHY I LOVE SWARM TOUR SM (MCR)

The swarm tour in 2022 when MCR returned is simply one of my favorite eras of theirs Starting by talking about the clothes Gerard wore, especially the "feminine" ones. Gerard is a person who uses he/they pronouns and often says they never identified with cisgender masculinity or cis gender expression. The outfits he wore are simply incredible, and I love that he can truly be himself and express his queer identity without fear of prejudice, as a queer person who hates how cisgender works, I simply love what he did, and it's very comforting for me to know I'm not alone when it comes to not aligning with what cisgender promotes. And lets also talk about how iconic the outfits are. 

My favorites are the nurse, secretary, and cheerleader outfits. Gee wore the secretary outfit in several shows, and I think it's really cool how it deteriorates in each show. In the first shows, she's normal, then in another show she's crying blood, and then her face is covered in blood its simply iconic. The cheerleader outfit is the most iconic to me,it's simply flawless. I love Gee being feminine and queer; I can't explain how much i love it . There's also the one with Princess Diana, the one with the sheep shirt, and she's simply ICONIC. And then there's Joan of Arc, who's also an icon that Gerard has said thousands of times he's obsessed with.  

Now, for another part of their comeback, which was at the When We Were Young Festival, a festival of simply nostalgic bands based on pure nostalgia bait from bands like mcr, who were famous at the time for people who are older today. Based on this concept, mcr innovated and a critiqued this kind of thing. They simply dressed in Revenges clothes but with makeup that made them look old, to suggest that they can do the same thing again and again, but how would that change? And also, if you're a mcr fan, you already know that their career in the band was never something extremely good. Mcr saved them, but they were going through bad times. So that's why Swarm is one of my favorite eras of the band I literally love it sm 😭
