Rating my recent watched movies

I'm going to talk about "The Sound of Music", "Wuthering Heights", "Frankenstein", "Marty Supreme", and "The Housemaid".

Disclaimer: i'm not a cinephile or anything, i'm not going to make full interesting reviews or anything, i'm just going to talk about how i felt watching these, i don't know if it makes sense. Also there will be no spoilers.

The Sound of Music directed by Robert Wise, 1965:

This was actually a rewatch! I had to watch it again for my sanity because i needed to see someone tear apart a nazi flag... and i loved it.

I've always loved that movie because of the songs, and the story, and the landscapes and everything! I absolutely love Julie Andrews and every role she's played.

I rated it a 4.5/5 stars <3

Wuthering Heights directed by Emerald Fennell, 2026:

I did not really have any expectations for this movie since i did not read the book yet, but i must admit that i was still left disappointed.

I love Margot Robbie et Jacob Elordi, i do think that they are good actors, but this movie was not it. I saw afterwards that the movie was directed by Emerald Fennell and i only saw one movie of hers, Saltburn, and hated it too. Just a reminder for me to check the director lol

I'm kinda sad though because i heard so many good things about this story...

I rated it a 2.5/5 stars :/

Frankenstein directed by Guillermo del Toro, 2025:

It was a good movie to be honest, i did not expect much because i've never been a big fan of this story but i loved my english teacher from my senior year and it is her that introduced us to this story so i watched it kind of for her i guess.

The scenery was good, every one did an excellent job acting, personnally not a big fan of the very end but maybe it is just me. To be frank i don't really remember the story itself so same as before: i did not have much expectations.

I rated it 3.5/5 stars :)

Marty Supreme directed by Josh Safdie, 2025:

I watched this movie because a friend of mine saw it in theaters and really liked it, and since i trust him when it comes to movies, i watched it.

I never heard about Marty Mauser before, so really discovered his story through this movie. I can't tell if it did him justice well or not, but one thing is that i really like this movie. I've never really watched movies with Thimothée Chalamet as the main character because for some reasons i did not want people to think that i watched said movies because of him, when he is in fact a really good actor. (note that i did watched movies with him as mc, just not as much as i'd like, dk if it makes sense). I think him and Tyler the Creator make a really good on-screen duo, and i do love seeing Odessa A'zion on my screen.

Is it a red flag that i did not "HATE" Marty's character? I see everyone criticizing him and everything but in all honesty, i kinda get him..

Anyway, i rated it 3.5/5 stars :)

The Housemaid directed by Paul Feig, 2025:

I was really intrigued about this movie because of all the different opinions people had over it.

I did read the book before watching the movie, and i hate to be this person, but i think that the book was better than the movie. I do think though that the major event at the end was better in the movie because when talking with my friend, we both think that in the book it doesn't really make sense.

Also i must admit that i was very disappointed concerning the choice for Andrew's actor lol, in the book the author sold me dreams but the actor was not exactly what i imagined lol. But don't get me wrong! He played his role really well! Same for Amanda Seyfrid, who was in my mind an excellent choice for the role! Now concerning Millie's actor, Sydney Sweeney, i must say that first i did not imagine her, and second she wasn't the best choice in my mind. I'm not saying she's a bad actress, but she was definitely not the best fit for this role.

I rated it 2.5/5 stars...

Note that i did watch other movies in between, but it was like disneys and dreamworks movies so i don't think it was interesting to say what i thought of shrek 2 or encanto lol

Also excuse all the typing mistakes, and language mistakes and everything: it's late and english isn't my first language :)
