The Hypnosis Mic Movie Is Peak Cinema.

Have you heard of Hypnosis Microphone? If you clicked on this blog, then the likely answer is yes! If you don't have a single idea, that's alright too! Perhaps I'll do a deep dive into the project in general, but I don't feel like it!◝(ᵔᵕᵔ)◜

...I'll do a small summery for those who don't know, I'm not totally evil lol! 

The gimmick of Hypmic is that weapons were banned in Japan, so the government gave people "Hypnosis Microphones" to battle instead. It's a rap battle project! The plot of the movie is that this is the Final DRB [Division Rap Battle], whoever wins gets to essentially rule over Japan! The fun part? The audience gets to pick who wins at the theater! Theres lots of different routes, and 7 different endings! It's amazing!!!!!!

I watched the movie for Hypnosis mic a few days ago when it hit my state on opening day! When I say it was perfect, I mean it was the best theatre experience I've ever had.... ever! I know it was most definitely because of the idea that there were so many fans like me in the same room, but the vibes of everyone were just amazing! The advertisements were saying to treat it like a concert and nobody disappointed! All the fans were so nice, and everyone who cosplayed made the experience that more fun! I dressed up, of course. I was Doppo Kannonzaka! When I first got into this project Matenrou caught my eye, Doppo being my favorite. His voice was the best! I was obsessed with his screams in the group/battle songs! Since getting more into it for the past years... well, I stayed true. Matenrou is my ride or die. Jakurai is my all-time favorite character in the entire project and will be until I kick the bucket.

Now, when I say I was stressed out during voting. I WAS STRESSED THE FUCK OUT!!! My two friends [dressed as Rosho and Ichiro] and I movie hopped, so we watched the movie three times! The first two times... MATENROU WAS VOTED OUT FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAS DISTROUGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Except... No, I wasn't! Cause my second favorite group, DH ended up winning once! That group was my two friends' faves, so I didn't complain at all! The vibes were amazing ↜₍^  > w <^₎ Ψ 

Last showing, though. I was stressing. It didn't help our showing was messing up like crazy! We missed the qr code, the movie kept skipping, and it was hell! It was crazy considering that was the showing with the most people! My friends and I were tired, being at the movies all day with only a chicken sandwich and shitty popcorn to tide us over [it tasted sweet for some reason? Gross!!] On the bright side, the thing fucking up gave us time to talk to the group next to us. One of the people from the group had just heard of Hypmic that day! I was talking to them the most, I thought it was so fun for them that this was their first exposure to it! I kept asking them to vote for Matenrou, as I was doing to everyone in the theater. 

My strategy was as follows:

"Hey! Who are you going to vote for?"

"Omg! I'm voting for [Insert anyone other than Matenrou]! What about you?"

"Oh cute! I'm voting for Matenrou! I think you should too!" / "I'm voting for Matenrou! You should too." 

Did it work....? Hehe, perhaps it did! BECAYSE MATENROU WON BITCHESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSDSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ↜(｀∀´)Ψ↜(｀∀´)Ψ↜(｀∀´)Ψ HELLLL YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ↜(｀∀´)Ψ↜(｀∀´)Ψ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I was screaming my head off the whole time. Every time Jakurai appeared on screen, and every time they won. I could hear the newbie from the group earlier say behind me, "It's so happy!" When Matenrou won. I grabbed my friend by the shoulders and shook him around, telling him this was prob how it felt to win the super bowl, and so on. I couldn't stop shaking the whole time! I felt like I was dying!! ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧

To be honest, I didn't think they would win the whole DRB! Nobody looked promising except for one kid in a Matenrou sweatshirt accompanied by about 4-5 adults who all seemed to be dragged by them. I know they were on my side. It was still amazing, though. Matenrou winning was the highlight of my day! Maybe even my life!!! ↜₍^  > w <^₎ Ψ I dunno, Just all of it was amazing! It's hard to find other descriptors at the moment, reliving the moment has been a hobby of mine since it happened!!!

The movie actually does a great job to not make you feel sad about your faves losing! Or maybe it was just me, because I love all of the groups so there's nothing really negative to me about any of them. You see them sad, yes, but they all really take it like champs! Even though Matenrou got voted out the first round at my first two viewings, I didn't find myself being that sad/dwelling over it. Not to mention, Fling Posse's song is absolutely banger in the second round! [Fling Posse has a lot of bangers, and arguably the best VA's in terms of group rapping ability]. Regardless, I applaud the movie for that aspect. No matter the outcome, it's still a fun viewing experience regardless!

Really, I never dreamed that Hypnosis Mic would come to the states! Seeing all of my favorite characters on such a big screen is like a dream come true. Being a fan since the beginning, I remember when Matenrou won the very first DRB, seeing it come full circle just makes me almost wanna cry... I love the community of people I've met, local fans in my area and just around my state! It's nice to know that my friends and I weren't the only people to travel over an hour just to see our faves and support our interests! I LOVE MY BEAUTIFUL LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!
