𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐬

The way the water recedes from the shore,
 Like time itself rewinds
To wash the sand off of our feet
 And the stars peek out
From clouds
 That bruise the sky like pebbles
Seconds wasted as I look at your eyes
 Whole galaxies in them
I’d waste those seconds anyway
 And the moment broken by the crashing of the waves
Softly humming us to sleep
