I feel one day someone will find this in the future. Or maybe I will go back to it and smile at me unlocking a memory.
No mentor, no guidance. No acceptance in any community. You're doing great. 2 years ago you didn't think you'd be here. Now look at you, Jahna... You're in another state traveling back and forth while trying to build from scratch. A foundation you been wanting since 27.
This music journey has been hard because of expectations. Lies I hear from others too that don't even have relevance to the craft or music. It's... painfully disgusting. Some days were hard to tame because of the lies lies lies of others and how others don't take you serious. But you just didn't know they don't take themselves serious and they chase another persons identity for feel whole.
I thought coming into music again would be a sportsmanship craft that'll expand my friend horizon and learn fun things. Half of that was right, but you learn people take the sportsmanship part to a competitive level. A lot of egos that only get stronger from the fear they have.
That fear they bear is validation seeking. Fear of peoples perception of their true self. Imitators-- seldom originators.
My good friend Angel said it best to me. People act like they're selling out or want to. It's a materialistic world.
After not playing an instrument since high school, it did take a toll to my creative approach, but I began chasing my childhood interests, sounds and inspirations. It warped me better. Being in my head helped me greatly.
After 2 years, I am very confident in my craft and the signature sound I have.
Ep has been extended till next Friday, 3/13. Debut Album later this year.
I'm happy with these results. Solitude attitude has been the motion. Not being accepted by any community has driven me to keep expanding my approaches, master myself and pay attention to when the world really needs you.
My diversity has no limits.
And if you're an artist, beat maker, musician, producer, or engineer... the same thing goes for you. Keep being real. It's ok. Really. I mean it.
What Jahseh said will always be true.
What is real will prosper.
