reoccurring dreams. are we visiting the same alternate reality?

i've been reading into dreams-worlds a lot lately and i've discovered that there's tons of people who have had the same exact dreams. i mean like, down to the very minute details. being able to tell me specific info that a total stranger has experienced. many about giant malls, others about mazes, or houses. 

i am so curious about this, and i myself have experienced some dreams that when i talk about them, come to find out that others have had the exact same one. my dream is that i am visiting huge hotel. endless hallways with un-numbered doors, dark red patterned carpet. everything feels and looks just... dingy. sometimes i can go into the rooms and it's either an empty room with a balcony, or there will be scattered furniture, like chairs and/or a bed with no sheets. i always wake up before i can find the lobby, but for some reason i KNOW it's there. very weird.
