Lately I've been trying to get back into reading again, so I did the same thing I did last year and gave myself the "challenge" to read at least a book once a month. Since I decided this is in February, my task is actually to read 12 books in 2026. It might be a small goal to some people but when you work 8am to 6pm, while trying to get a scholarship for another degree and expecting a baby, it's enough, I guess. All this just to say that I hated my pick for the first book.
Last month, a friend brought some books to donate at work and one of them was "Shopaholic Ties the Knot" by Sophie Kinsella. It's the third book of the series that originated the movie "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and if you only watched the movie, you can definitely read this one without knowing the first two books. I already liked the characters, I enjoyed the fun writing but I couldn't stand Luke in this book. He's the straight forward, charming, firm type of character but in this book he's so... lame. His mother is a rude person to every character she interacts with and he just does nothing. Among other things, that is part of the plot of the book but I didn't like it. I don't say this very often but I'll stick with the movie. So... I have to pick a new book to start in march because I dropped that one. Leave a comment if you have a book to suggest.

I am also trying to get back into reading, and I know that this is no small goal, especially for those of us who have lost the habit of reading. I set the same goal for myself and I am achieving it. You can do it too!
One type of book that really helped me get back into reading was short story collections. I like horror and suspense, so I chose those, but they really help, especially because they are short stories. For me, reading them was much easier
Thanks! What are you reading right now? Last year, I found very easy reading Emily Henry books because they are fast paced and I like her characters so I'm looking for one of her books to read.

I am currently reading the second book of The Lord of the Rings. By Emily, I have only read Happy Place, which I really enjoyed. Lynn Painter's books are also very good, and I found her writing style similar to Emily's

With Lord of The Rings you have a long way to go then! Haven't read them, but I know they're kind of thick. Also, thanks for the rec! I will look Lynn Painter up, at least the covers of her books are very similar to Emily Henry's. I decided to read People We Meet on Vacation (by Emily), I'll let you know what I think of it when I start. Have a good day!
