should i feel ashamed for,,,,,having hope i guess?

by that i mean

theres so much doomers around me both irl and in spacehey

there's always some pessimistic chud going "waaa waaa life sucks relationships suck jobs suck everything is meaningless and pointless"

so i feel bad for being naively optimistic and thinking i'll get my high paying IT job and live in northeastern US if i believe and try hard enough

like these people are just walking vessels of negativity

anybody else relate?

edit: thanks yall for the comments,i promise i will print out this page and put it in a frame and hang it on my office when i get that job! wish me the best of luck!

nah we all are living in a world where every new event is used against us, to emotionally deceive us and scare us. people are just influenced by fear and by pessimism from others, and the situation in the world in general but, it's never naive to have hope. hope is what keeps us going, and joy is what we deserve :)

when i said naive i was talking about naive optimism which is a different version of optimism

OHH sorry :sob: but it's still cool to have a goal and get through the pessimism in the world regardless

When you're surrounded by people feeling bad, it's generally hard to feel good about the good things in your life. Recently I've honestly been really irritated about people who only message me to tell me something bad has happened administration-wise - I don't understand how people are so complacent in feeling bad and making bad things worse. Of course, I never want those people to feel worse by me saying something back, but we have more power than we think we do.

It makes me want to tell people DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! It feels so frustrating to me, yes life sucks but find something great about it that makes you want to keep going.

It's not naive if you're working towards that and doing the work to make it true. Optimism is really important, especially right now since there are still things to look forward to in life. Thinking that everything is doomed is how we'll be defeated. It's awesome to hear that you're in IT too, I feel the same way, I think we have really similar goals.

I have started hanging out with people who believe it will work out and good things are happening to them. Honestly it helps a lot with the doom and the dread.

been feeling like this because i tell people on here i want to be an US citizen and everybody goes like

NO NO LE EVIL ICE AND UHHH TRUMP (theyre not wrong when they say that actually)

but chill and be grateful you should see how we have it in turkey

so basically one man's hell is one man's heaven

The thing is that I do personally plan on immigrating and a lot of people's rights are definitely under attack right now, but I don't think people in the US really thoroughly understand how bad other places can be. We tend to think everything is about us and what we live through is almost like the base standard of existence. We are definitely moving towards a more fascist state of leadership and if we don't do something to nip it in the bud, we'll have a big problem on our hands, but I don't think all is lost. It's never too late to do better and get together and make it work. Your optimism is for sure needed here.

I feel like you can only make that decision for yourself, and it'd be best to maybe visit and see what life is like here just in case(?) but if it's what you've always wanted to do I would never discourage someone trying to better themselves or where they are. If the US is the place you think that can happen for you, then go for it.
