The end of winter is always so hard. Spring is just out of reach, so it feels never ending. Usually I read, but for several reasons I can't focus on it too well at moment. So, I've been branching out!
Finally caught up to ""Elvira". She's super popular on this site hahaha but, not being american I suppose, I'd never heard of her! Better late than never. 30% of my soul identifies with her, and I wish I could know exactly how they built the "warm coming out of the pot" prop. It's so clearly not real, yet the disgust was visceral. Music, coloring and over the top acting 10/10
"The lair of the white warm": Considering it has Hugh Grant and Peter Capaldi (the 12th doctor) on it, how come I'd never heard of this movie?? The cover art is top notch, Amanda Donohoe delivering every time:
Her delivery of the lines was incredible. She really felt earnest at times, and then she would shift to campy villain really fast. I'm excited to read the original story by Bram Stoker.
Then here are some video games I've been playing: Stardew Valley is my therapy, no further comments; Goroga was sublime, very subtle story telling and the puzzles were really satisfying; A Short Hike had so many nooks and crannies, and as a hiking lover, reaching that top of the mountain had a similar effect of serotonin dump, with the beautiful scenery at the top and the reminder that you can breathe; finally To the Moon, which had a fantastic narrative. Solid!
Next up I'll be playing To the Moon 2, Hypnospace Outlaw, and Broken Reality (thank you Steam discounts hahaha). In terms of movies, there's a local movie festival going on where I live this week. Can't say much about it because I never look at synopsis so that I can be surprised!
To whoever reads this blog, thank you and feel free to share anything! I don't want to write too much so as not to make it boring, so I haven't written about my indie web explorations, and about the music I've been listening to lately. But I'm super open to all kinds of recs in these two areas as well!
