the hole benefit show [28.02.26]

went to a house show on saturday to the benefit of a local being fucked by I.C.E. originally i was going to go with my friend, but she got a job recently so she had work. i ended up just going myself. i wasn't expecting it to be such a small turn out. i think it's a new venue, so they don't have the same pull as the more established ones. but honestly, i love small intimate shows like this one. the crowd was maybe 15-ish people (including band members). when i went to the basement where the bands were playing, there was only two other people there. i ended up talking to one dude for a lot of the night, he was super chill. we talked about superheroes and music and whatnot.

the first band was an alternative rock band called Harbor Day, who i really enjoyed. after their set i talked to the singer Austin, and she ended up giving me their setlist !!! i have it on my wall now :))

the next band is one i've seen a lot, The Hobby. i didn't know until tonight but the singer of The Hobby is actually the drummer of Harbor Day which is why they're on a joint tour together. but they played basically every one of their songs that i love. there wasn't enough people to actually mosh, but i was headbanging like crazy. after their set someone who was with them (i wasn't wearing my glasses so i couldn't tell if she was a band member or a partner of one of them) gave me ANOTHER set list. and ive been wanting one of theirs for a while now, so it is also on my wall :))

i actually talked to the singer on insta after the show, he said (very paraphrased) "sorry i didn't talk to you at the show but it was great to see you at the show singing along," and ive been trying to work on being more open about feelings so i said something like "thanks, your music means a lot and has helped me cope with a lot," and it was super cool. AND they said they'd be back in seattle soon.

but anyways the last, and my favorite local band, Sunbather Die headlined. while they were setting up their bassist said hi to me and gave me a hug, and we chatted for a moment before he went back to get ready. they played all of their songs (all three of them) and it was so fucking fun. my neck is still hurting like crazy two days later.
