MARCH 2, 2026 ⋮ SCREAM 7 (2026) MOVIE REVIEW
!THIS BLOG ENTRY CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS!
Oh man, where do I start. I saw this movie in the theaters yesterday, and I'm going to be completely honest. It was an awesome movie! However, I have countless things to complain about. One being there's a weird "plot hole" if you will. If you remember, in a previous movie (I don't remember if it was five or six), there was a whiteboard with every single Ghostface and their death dates. Stu Macher, one of the antagonist in the original Scream (1996), had a question mark in place of his death date. This and other clues lead to speculation that he would be alive in the seventh movie. Now, I wouldn't have a problem if he was really dead, even if he's my favorite character. I'm mildly infuriated by it because said "plot hole", and the fact that the antagonists in Scream 7 were hardly shown on camera. They both had about one scene each, no clues whatsoever. I couldn't even remember either of their names, and when they were both revealed, I genuinely forgot who they both were. On the contrary, I did enjoy that when they played Stu Macher off to be AI, they used real Matthew Lillard for the clips, instead of AI. Also, Scream 7 is the "nostalgia movie". It featured the same shots from the original, the same main character, etc.
Despite everything, I did like the movie and do not regret seeing it in the movie theater.
