VAMPIRES CRY BLOOD AND SO DO I (poem)

Vampires Cry Blood
Beneath a moon of hollow white,
I wander through the ageless night.
My heart is still, a frozen stone,
In this dark world I walk alone.
I see the life in every vein,
The pulsing joy, the fleeting pain.
I reach for warmth I cannot keep,
While mortals drift in peaceful sleep.
No salt-rimmed tears fall from my eyes,
To match the sorrow of my sighs.
Instead, a crimson river flows,
The only grief a shadow knows.
For every memory I’ve lost,
I pay a heavy, scarlet cost.
A mourning mark on pallid skin,
For all I am and might have been.
So if you see the ruby trace,
Upon a cold and silent face,
Know that the soul within is dry,
And only blood is left to cry.
