The "silly cars :3" stereotype is deadass prob one of the biggest "non-problems" of 2026 and sounds a bit ableist tbh // Commentary

Alright sooooo hai, i'm Wormi, i'm an artist and a FURRY- this is just a rant/commentary of the recent-ish hate gathering on social media over the "silly cars :3" stereotype.

What is the "silly cars :3" stereotype?

You may ask if you were too busy caring about real life, important issues. Well. It's basically people who fit in the "scenecore" alternative fashion group, or whatever folks will call you a "poser" nowadays. Along with joke about various characters, mostly the characters Gubby, a rabbit character from roblox, and Gnarpy, an alien cat usually associated to the roblox game 'Regretavator', which is also a part of this stereotype. Another pretty prominent part of this stereotype is the phrase "Rap is overstimulating", while liking the music genre "breakcore" which is an intense and fast paced experimental music genre. Making the statement and phrase hypocritical. What's my opinion on the statement? Not liking rap is ok, nobody's forcing you to enjoy it and it isn't for everyone at the end of the day. But saying that rap overstimulates you, while listening to other fast pace-ish music is as I said, hypocritical. But overall, I feel like nobody fucking actually says this lol.

BUT i do understand that people, neurodivergent people mostly in this case, all have different triggers and are upset by different things. So i guess that could explain the phrase a bit, not to mention autism being a part of this stereotype, and this is where ableism comes in.

"Why do you think that this stereotype could be harmful towards autistic people?"

Listen, autism is pretty much different for everyone who has it, as a person with autism myself. And it's OK if you're cool with this stereotype while being an autistic individual. But in a sense, this stereotype has a bit of bigotry hidden inside of it, here's why;

-A term used in this stereotype is "silly autism". Which is the part that really rubbed me the wrong way. Which either is supposed to (A: Make this negative stereotype towards autistic people, making them the butt of the joke. Or the less likely answer, (B: Making fun of non-neurodivergent people who infantilizes people who are neurodivergent. Which in my opinion, option A seems like a more legit answer. Now, I GET that not everyone in the neurodivergent community likes the "silly autism" term, but I guess that some people DO use it, sort of as representation in a way.

-Another instance of ableism in the stereotype is that a lot of the skits/posts that I've seen (so I may not be entirely accurate), the "silly cars" character, that is SUPPOSED to be seen as a bad person or "cringe" constantly mentions having any kind of mental disability/illness, including autism.

-And with the last two mentioned, and now that we're both (probably) on the same page here. This feels like a part of the normalized ableism in the meme culture. Wait- STOP THROWING TOMATOES AT ME NOOOOO-🍅🍅🍅. Tho yeah, all jokes aside, what is the normalized ableism in meme culture, you may ask again? I've been seeing a strange pattern in memes recently, mostly on Tiktok (ew), involving disorders such as Autism and ADHD being shown in a negative light. Such as Birdie's "evil autism", and while Birdie (the person in that video) is a horrible person (trust me, the Birdie drama is an ENTIRE other can of worms to talk about.), the main part of that meme was the phrase being seen as "cheesy", the meme? A person being happy with being autistic, once again, I am NOT defending Birdie and their actions, just talking about that specific clip.

So yeah, I might just be looking into it too much, but once again, this is mostly a rant, so not everything will exactly be accurate.

Why I don't think that people who act like this stereotype is an actual issue.

So, you may be thinking "OMAGAH WORMIIIIII WHY DON'T YOU LIKE THIS STEREOTYPE THAT YOU JUST SOMEWHAT PROVED TO BE PROBLEMATICCCC. THEY'RE SO CWINGE AND COWNYYYYYYYY". Well, here's why;

I genuinely don't give a shit what your interests are as long as it isn't ACTUALLY problematic or glorifying horrible things (looking at the freaks at Tumblr who drool over ACTUAL school shooters), as long as you're happy and not harassing anyone, you do you. "Oh, but Wormi, they're annoying!" So? You don't have to interact with them, just simply block them, no need to make an entire stereotype. "Oh, they're corny and CWINGE", please look up why cringe culture is harmful, I thought we left that shit in 2022.

People should be able to harmlessly express themselves without being dogpiled or harassed on the internet. They just have a different group of interests and humor, like everyone else. It's that simple.

CUNT-CLOUSION.

So yeah, I think that's about all of what topics about this stereotype that i wanted to touch on. This stereotype is basically just a cringe culture refreshed, which y'all know that i hate. And at the end of the day, these are just people happily spending their lives doing the things they love, you don't have to be an asshole for the littlest things ever, use that hate and anger on actually horrible things (yes, i know that that part sounds like the "whatabout-ism" card, but seriously, there's worse things in life.)

My apologies if this rant/commentary is too much of a ramble, have a nice day/night, cheers =)
