Current Emo

Am I the only one who thinks that today's emos are just something performative and that they only like half of the songs?
I say this because, in the past, emos were seen as people who were down on life and rebellious, sad, melancholic, and of course, listeners of emocore bands. They were people excluded by society just because of their way of being.
Emo now seems to be just people who liked the style and now listen to half a song. There’s no longer that sad philosophy about life and the people who excluded them. Now, with modern internet and current social networks, everything seems performative. I don’t see any current emo talking about platonic love on the internet, nothing about love (Remember, this is my opinion, am I going to get shot?)...
