Introducing my cats (bc why not)

I spent a lot of time thinking what my first blog post was gonna be about and I thought "yknow what, fuck it, I'm gonna ramble about my cats", so here we are.

This is Nico, or Niquito if you want to call him in a cuter way.

Nico was adopted in 2017, when I was 15yo. Before being rescued by a friend of my mother's, he was abandoned in the streets along with his sister. I begged my mother if we could adopt one of the two.

My mother wanted his sister, a white, female, well behaved cat. BUT, of course I wanted the black skittish one who wouldn't shut up if we picked him up. I figured that since he was black and very skittish most people wouldn't adopt him. I had none of this prejudiced bullshit so I would gladly take him, and I did!

I named him Nico after my favorite character Nicolas Brown from one of my favorite manga Gangsta.

Nico reminded me a lot of this character and I hoped he would become as badass as Nicolas Brown when he grows up. Lol was I wrong.

Nico is as skittish as ever, he still hates to be picked up, get's startled and scared easily, dramatic as fuck, likes to interupt conversations and is a coward. He loses fights to his cousin, who is a female cat 7 years younger than him, damn that boy is wEAK.

Despite that I still love him oc, he's a loser cat but he's MY loser cat.

Now, this is Samoa, she's Nico's cousin, my younger brother's cat. She's my brother's but she lives with me and I also raised her due to circustances I will not elaborate.

She was adopted in 2024. A friend of my brother's adopted a pregnant cat and gave away the kittens, one of them to my brother as you can see.

As you can probably tell, she was named after the island country in the South Pacific Ocean. I don't know the reason why?? Guess my brother likes the place (he never traveled there).

She's a very playful and cheerful cat, she likes to be squished and won't react no matter what you do to her, like she stays still and behaved if you pick her up and make her dance (of course she has her limits, we try not to push her boundaries). In my opinion she's pampared way too much by my mother, there's definitely some favoritism here since my mother doesn't pay as much attention to Nico.

She's also a bully, she likes to bully Nico a lot. When Nico is lying somewhere, Samoa sometimes kicks him out so she can lie there instead. Poor Nico, he doesn't have the courage to fight for his rights, smh.

Aand, last but not least. This is Lua.

Lua was adopted in 2009, when I was just a kid. She disappeared in 2020 and was never found.

She's named after the Moon, because when I first picked her up I looked at the moon and thought that it was beautiful. And when I looked back at the cat I was holding in my arms, I thought she was just as beautiful (lol so cheesy, but it's true).

It's hard to talk about her, she's my biggest loss and I miss her so much it still hurts. She was my first pet and my best friend. When I was a kid, I used to be bullied at school so she brought me a lot of comfort. I always felt better playing with her and letting her sleep on my lap while I played videogames after school.

Lua was a very calm and serious cat, but also very needy. She loved to be picked up and sleep on my lap. She was the very opposite of Nico lolol, she was strong, brave and if you did anything she didn't like she would get mad and react.

I grew up with her, she was my sister and the most precious thing I had in my life at the time. I carry her dearly in my heart to this day and I will never forget the times we spent together. She will never be forgotten. My best friend forever.
