It's quite a journey to say the least...
The first thing a lot of people point out is the page count (8100~). Most of them are one-image panels with a bit of narration, but some are really long walls of text, some are fully playable games, and some are animations that can go on for 10 minutes
IIRC currently the best way to read it (the unofficial homestuck collection) is unavailable officially, though I think finding a reupload of it will be trivial if you put some effort in. I've been a fan for a few years and while the story has high highs and low lows, I don't regret reading it in the slightest. Give it a whirl!
