A topic I see that is a serious issue.

(This is so targeted towards a certain fandom but I don’t care.) 

Rape, rapists, what are they exactly? Rapists are individuals who commit this abhorrent crime, frequently using coercion, intimidation, or taking advantage of an incapacitated victim, often falsely justifying their actions to deny the severity of their predation. Rape is the non-consensual, violent violation of a person's bodily autonomy through forced sexual acts, often driven by a desire to humiliate and control.

- “Yeah, so what’s this about?”

People defending their favorite characters, that are rapists. 

I hate it, I know there are much worse situations people are gonna talk about, but this isn’t about that. I don’t like using TikTok that much anymore, since it’s so fucking mainstream it’s crazy. The only TikTok’s I send to friends are from ones other people sent to me. But I saw a few, and lemme say. What are we doing?

Nothing, and I mean nothing can justify that your favorite character is a rapist. 

“Oh! But they have trauma! There just not doing well mentally!!” I don’t care, your character’s a rapist.

“They couldn’t handle it.” Your character’s a rapist.

“They were confused!” Your character, is a rapist.

Things I noticed though, it’s only the “attractive” ones that get defended most. Beauty standards do exist, even through characters. Which is honestly really fucking sad.

- “What if the character is a woman?”

It doesn’t matter, it goes for both genders. 

“B-But men do it more!!” It goes for both genders.

Rape is the need for power, it’s a disgusting desire. And it’s not funny to joke about, like at all. If you think you’re being funny by saying you’re gonna rape someone, you’re the problem.

- “What about age in characters?”

There’s these things called pedophiles, they are awful and inhumane. Filthy creatures, I hate them. But they’re everywhere, what do most of them do?

Stalk, rape, kill, and be fucking perverts.

This goes for a lot of fandoms and books I read that have styles like these. Oh my god, a lot of them are portrayed so poorly.

I was reading this one wattpad story back in 2021, it romanticized pedophila and rape so much to the point where it was just that for the rest of the story. People defended that shit like their life depended on it to just because they liked the antagonist. Get a grip people.
