Arcane Review

I've watched a few episodes of Arcane, and so far it's okay ig. Like definitionally mid, it's not great, but it's not god-awful. I totally feel like it is overhyped.

Things I don't like about the series:

- You are rapidly introduced to characters that rapidly get killed off, and you are supposed to have built a connection to them in the 2 seconds they were on screen, so you care when they die.

- Silco is going on about foolishness every time he speaks

- Predictable

- I'd say that there are zero stakes because legit 2 episodes in the entire main cast get blown up, and it's pretty difficult to do anything after that. Like idk about Piltover and idk about Silco's Undercity either (I didn't care about Vander's that much either tbh, but Silco is evil).

- (personal take, but) I don't really like Jinx, even though I understand the significance of her character construction. Also, none of the other characters are even that likable, I don't have a favourite character.

Things I like:

- The visual storytelling and imagery (like seeing certain places before vs after was interesting to me)

- The fact that Jinx actually gets traumatized from the traumatic events in her life. Also, the fact that you see the consequences of different things, like shimmer Test Subject #1 looking a bit worse for wear after the timeskip.
