Forced Positivity

Nothing icks me more about some people than the forced positivity. I may be a pessimistic person sometimes, but if you think about it... who are those people trying to convince that they are happy? Themselves or others? And I am of course not talking about those who are genuinely happy - usually it shows without any words. No matter the repetition, no matter how much you affirm, to yourself or others, if you truly don't feel happy - you won't be. And that's okay! Sometimes it's okay to feel miserable. It's okay to feel not okay. Because at least you won't lie to yourself. At least you will stop and think to yourself - why am I not okay? What am I doing wrong? What can I do to make things better? What sort of work on myself i can do to achieve some happiness?
It is a pretty deep topic on it's own and i could think about it for hours, but I just felt like writing down about it real quick.
