My grammar and writing is pretty shit here, because I feel like shit, and because I don't want to edit all that.
For context, I'm on the border of Gen Z and gen alpha, home to the largest drop in academic scores.
General knowledge:
I go to a public school, and statistically speaking 50% of the population is dumber than average, possibly more since the smarter kids are in private schools. All of the people I talk to commonly cant understand common phrases or even words.
Examples: I was talking about how I was "slurring my words" and my conversation partner thought I was saying slurs; I was complaining about how certain classes are restricted on who they accept based on race and I ended with the sentence "It would be better if they let white people into the class."¹ and my friend thought I was being racist; I would say common phrases like "doth protest too much", "a broken clock is right twice a day", ect., and they wouldn't have a clue on what I was talking about.
In English we were in a group project and my duty was to review everyone's writings, and everybody's spelling and grammar was kind of shit. Also some were not able to follow basic instructions and follow text (and its not like they weren't trying to).
Social norms:
My mother, who is a nurse, reports that recent patients have become more violent intergenerationally. She talked about how patients now days who were in for attempted suicide, would still try to kill themselves when admitted, as opposed to the old norm where they wouldn't.
I really cant compare the violence that I've witnessed and been through with my parents experiences because they either grew up on the opposite side of the world or in a completely different socio-economic situation. Post quarantine this one girl was unnaturally quick to violence, she ended up punching me so hard I fell to the ground. Her friend group just watched??
Also on one of the first days of school I had a habit of holding open the door for people, I counted 14 people one day and only 1 said thank you?? Scaling that up, about 7% of the population is reasonable enough to say thanks when you hold the door open for them.
Also I've had multiple sexual comments made about me and too me. For context I dress pretty gender neutral (I'm a female) ; hoodie, t-shirt, jeans, sweatpants. It would make some sense if I dressed provocatively, though that is not an excuse. No joke this one girl wore a top so low I could see her areola but I'm the one who is getting followed and commented on??
This freshman tried to kill themselves on school grounds and not even 5 minutes later THOSE people were joking about it.
Summary:
Whateverrrr, who cares, your honor, like who cares. Once again people my age suck, which is a point that has never been made by anyone in history ever. This is coming from an asocial foid whose entire friend group left for different schools and has never had a good experience with the system who is also losing intrest in the things I used to love.
1: The class I'm talking about is a college preparation class that I learned restricts who they accept based on race and if your parents went to college. Specifically the only let in students who were Non-white, onus points if your parents didn't go to college. The quest to undo racial injustice is noble, but to assume that people are disadvantaged based purely on their race is racist. It also makes no sense, I was let in because I'm put in the system as Asian, but Asians are the richest race in America. In the class, you are also heavily reliant on your peers, and literally everybody were some of the worst students I've ever seen, and to top it off none of them were on the same level classes as I was (that being Higher level math). Later I was talking to a white, parents-went-to-college, guy who was on my same level of classes, and he said he was rejected from the class because he was "privileged". It would have been nice if I had at least one person who was serious on their academics, and was on my same level, but the guy who would have been perfect for that was rejected based on his race and generational-academic history. Hence the phrase "The class would have been better if they let white people in."
Side note: The teacher of that class was also racist as hell (in a woke way). She basically described my Mom (Brown immigrant who was the main provider for the family) and said that those kinds of people wont be able to vote if voter ID is put in place because they're immigrants who work so much they wont have time to vote, which is ironic considering how my Mom was the only person in my family who voted that election.

Older generations doesn't teaches us anymore, and they blame us for being dumb when THEY don't teach us. Schools decreases the level every year, and think they're doing a right thing, when they actually AREN'T. People don't think anymore, they just assimilate.
The principal reason, too, is complete laziness. People don't wanna do simple things anymore, they want everything bringed to them.
I lived off the internet my whole life due to loneliness, I wasn't teached anything basic and my parents has always been emotionally annoying as fuck, and I write better English and French than most kids my age.
Bro, I swear everytime someone asked how to write a word, it has been YEARS I know how to write that word. Like why do you ask how to write insister?? (the verb To Insist in French) Are you THAT dumb??

^ people ARE disadvantaged based on their race, DUE to racism. duh. racial discrimination is obviously still very prevalent and the class is seemingly meant to undo that discrimination

^ he was rejected from the class bc of being privileged because the class is meant to uplift those who are, as u mentioned, disadvantaged. he is not disadvantaged so he doesnt need the extra support that the class gives. they're not aiming for equality; theyre aiming for equity
I do agree that people are disadvantaged by race but it's not so prevalent nor so potent (at least my area) to warrant the classes level of discrimination. It would have been better for equity if they accepted based on other factors such as economic status, residential area, and grades, since race is not a reliable indicator for academic status/success.
The class uses a student-teach-student method similar to Feynman's technique, and it would have benefited from having both 'higher' and 'lower' level students so that students can learn through teaching and being taught. Also, though it is more likely that a student is privileged if they are white and parents are college educated, its not a reliable enough indicator of economic or academic standing.
