☆*: .。. Books are life-changing .。.:*☆

Hiii, hope you're okay!

I wanna talk a little about my book odyssey: I've never had a niche in books, I always read what I think is interesting 🤣, but lately I've been reading lots of books from the 19th century onward!

Now I'm reading Jane Eyre (by Charlotte Brontë) and I'm LOVING it. I've read Wuthering Heights (by Emily Brontë) and I feel like I'm already part of the Brontë family hahaha. Both authors are great! Their social critiques are amazing, the books are perfectly written, all of the characters have an excellent personality and are well developed. I think they were a bit feminist.

Before them, I've read Opúsculo Humanitário (by Nísia Floresta), Nebulosas (by Narcisa Amália) and Memórias de Martha (by Julia Lopes). All of them are feminist books and have opened my eyes for a bunch of things, made me questioning and have critical thoughts.

The next book I'll read is The Death Of Ivan Ilyich (by Leo Tolstoy), which is my boyfriend's recommendation. Then, I've planning to read Carmilla (by Sheridan Le Fanu) or The Hour Of The Star (by Clarice Lispector).

What occurs is that I'm totally obsessed with books and I need to keep myself away from thinking in the next book before I finish one. Books can teach us wonderful lessons, as well as it can lead us to the withering, if we don't build a critical sense. How can WORDS have this power?

When I was younger, I read Flowers For Algernon (by Daniel Keyes) and that destroyed me. This book is SO unfair that I could die trying to find an explanation for all that cruelty toward Charlie and by Charlie. That's a reflection of a sick society.

Despite sadness, The War That Saved My Life (by Kimberly Bradley) is a heartwarming book. One of my favorites! I usually don't like things related to the Second World War because it makes me cry out of hopelessness, but this one is different! And that's why I love books.

Thanks for reading! XOXO.
