Random Music Production Tip #1

Minor fixes because SpaceHey doesn't like my screenshots on blog posts.

So you make music...

I don't care what level of skill you're at in music production, but do me a little favor...

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE KEEP THE BASS FREQUENCY RANGE TO THE BASS TRACK

Okay, let me put this into perspective:

I found a synth on FLEX (Yes, I'm one of those FL Studio dweebs), and it's not supposed to be a bass synth, but I'll see sound going into the 20-200Hz range on my EQ. You can try this with almost any synth preset. That shouldn't be there, because those are bass frequencies, and you don't want that going over any bass tracks you got because that's just gonna cause a muddy mess.

You've probably tried to layer bass notes. Did it sound horrendous? Thought so.

So please, do yourself (and me, like I said earlier), and keep the bass to your bass tracks. Put a high pass on anything that doesn't need those frequencies.

Thank you for your attention to this matter
