Would you be genuinely impacted if someone you used to date (or were on the verge of dating) suddenly reappeared wealthy, radiant, prosperous, and "living their best life"?
Imagine, for example, that they level up after you. new vehicle. Better fashion. assured. triumphing in life.
Would you be proud?
Are you irritated?
Do you feel like you were left out?
I'm intrigued now.
If your former partner returned wealthy and prosperous:
Would you give them another chance?
Or, after it's finished, is it closed forever?

honestly, i’d be very happy for them. we all get older and move on with our lives.
a little blurb from my own life here if i may—i recently got back into contact with my ex girlfriend who i had a very rocky relationship with. it lasted for just under two years (i believe we broke up a few weeks before our anniversary). this was a little less than two years ago. we cut contact for over a year before she reached out to me a few months ago. and the truth is that we have both grown as people. i don’t hold onto any old feelings of resentment or anger anymore. i actually am acquainted with her new partner.
my point is that i wouldn’t be angry or jealous or anything. i would just be happy for her; and this applies to all of my past relationships as well.

Okay, so, i'm a loser whose only had like one ex lmao but. If he suddenly came back into my life, all rich and successful. I'm gonna have to say hell no I won't care.
First off, it's been way too long since we've seen each other. We dated like in High School for a while. He dumped me a day before we were gonna go see each other and I was about to lovingly bake him cookies, and then he ghosted me completely to go hang out with his friends at a trampoline park.
If he were, hypothetically, to come back rich and successful. I'm not really gonna care lol. Not only did he dump me with 0 explanation, I had a whole queer awakening and realized I have a huge lean for women lmao.
I would be so proud of you, too, because no bastard who dumps you with 0 explanation in the first place and then goes to hand in a trampoline park (?!!?) deserves your beautiful, pony-like, amazing, ethereal person like you.
Period.
