this is just ridiculous

i thought spacehey would be one of the few spaces online that’d be free from the growing restrictions of these bullshit “age verification” bills that are just online censorship in the guise of “children’s safety”. though, it really depends how each website implements them and why. since, i do believe websites with adult content SHOULD be restricted in some way. i’ve learned it has been set in place in new york, and for other places it hasn’t been enforced-but, according to the assembly bill A3946.. it applies to sites with NSFW content on them. in absolutely no shape or form is NSFW allowed on here?! so what the fuck made spacehey decide to completely restrict their site to NY when this site is just a social platform. it makes no sense to me. i bet it’s probably because it was forced upon spacehey more than them willingly complying to a bill that shouldn’t even apply to it in the first place.. so, it sucks. every day our resources to connect with people online are growing smaller and smaller all because the government are scared of us. they’re so scared of us that they want to silence us entirely or spy on every little thing we say.
