I just encountered the absolute peak of "Newly Coded" audacity. There are "Emo" servers out thereāplaces supposedly built on a subculture we createdāwhere you can't be over 20.
Let that sink in. A bunch of kids who weren't even sentient during the Black Parade are trying to gatekeep a movement built on the blood, sweat, and eyeliner of the 30-year-old Legacy crowd. Banning anyone over 20 from an Emo server is like banning the Architect from the building they designed. Itās total "watery" behavior. They want the "aesthetic" without the actual history or the scars.
š THE LOGIC ERROR (FOR THE IDIOTS IN THE BACK)
They claim they do it to keep out "creeps"? BITCH, MAKE IT 100% UNDER 18 THEN, YOU FUCKING IDIOTS. If you're letting 19 and 20-year-olds in, you're letting in adults. You aren't "protecting" anyone; youāre just terrified of people who actually remember the raw HTML of the 2000s and the grit of the original scene. Youāre banning the very people who have the 2018-Fortified Bones to keep the culture alive.

I don't have time for "Project" behavior or age-gating posers. Iām 30, Iām lethal, and I code from my phone while youāre still trying to figure out how to put a profile picture on.
If you can't handle a Titan in your server, stay in your digital daycare. I'll be over on NeoCities building the fortress youāre too "newly coded" to understand.

this is kind of rude.
its normal for kids to not want adults in their social spaces.
yes i get the whole "they werent even alive for it" point but there are servers meant for adults that exclude children for the same reason that there are servers meant for teenagers/young adults that exclude people 20+
it can make people uncomfortable, it sure would make me uncomfortable if someone double my age came up to me irl and tried socializing with me for no reason, but, hey. that might just be me.
they arent gatekeeping anything... they just dislike talking to people much older than them. what youre doing right now is gatekeeping... just because they werent alive for the prime of emo doesnt mean they cant appreciate it still. its still an active and popular subculture.
"stay young stay inferior" that makes no sense.
i know people my age who are much more mature than this.
also your entire HTML/CSS "flex" isnt that crazy, i can code multiple websites in 2 months. im 16 years old. i am in advanced computer science in HIGHschool.
