Have we been here before? 👁️ | The Backrooms & Liminality

The Feeling of "Almost" Remembering...

Have you ever walked through a mall after closing time? Or stood in an empty school hallway during summer break? There’s a specific kind of silence there. It’s not just the absence of noise; it’s the presence of a memory that has happened yet .

What are Liminal Spaces?

Backrooms

A "liminal space" is a place of transition. It’s the "in-between." It’s a hallway, a waiting room, or a parking lot at 3 AM. These places feel eerie because they are designed for people to pass through, not to stay in. When they are empty, they lose their purpose, and that’s when the Dreamcore vibes kick in. It feels like a glitch in reality.

The Backrooms: The Ultimate Glitch

If you "noclip" out of reality in the wrong areas, you’ll end up in The Backrooms.

Level 0: The smell of damp carpet.

The Sound: The maddening hum-buzz of yellow fluorescent lights.

The Look: Endless miles of randomly segmented empty rooms.

It’s the ultimate nightmare for someone who loves Frutiger Aero but fears the isolation of the Dreamcore world. It’s a place that looks like a 90s office building but feels like an infinite loop

Why are we obsessed?

I think we love these spaces because they remind us of our childhood dreams—blurry, nostalgic, and slightly unsettling. We are all just wandering through the "hallways" of the internet, looking for a room that feels like home.

Are you lost too? Or are you just exploring?
