Before we talk music, talk briefly about life.
Went to my grandfathers unveiling. It’s a tradition in the Jewish faith which the headstone is revealed to family and friends. To me it marked the end of a crazy three years. It all started on an October night in 2017 when my wife got a weird phone call from her uncle about her grandfather who was in a tragic accident, and ultimately passed.
Today felt like a close. She lost her mother, I lose a few friends. It’s been rough. We continue to make it through. My grandfather passed right before Covid, and normally you have time to mourn with family and friends. Covid took that, and our normal day to day lives.
It’s been strange.
For the first tome ever, I am ACTUALLY writing the music out. I learned that this helps me better remember what I am doing. I tend to be good at forgetting that. I started off by sharing three of the songs with the group. Now it’s time for them to break it apart, and see what they can come up with.
This is going to be a some what strange process. Since we aren’t in the room together. However, I believe it will set us up nicely once we can return to that. I know some bands I’ve gotten together and done stuff, however for family, we’ve been a bit more conservative on those types of meetings.
One week until I am saved. Here we go.
