yap sesh about scene/scenecore culture

[ pls don't take anything I'm about to say to seriously]  i lowkey don't like the term "scenecore" in like 60 percent of the contexts its used in, especially when its being used to bully younger ppl in the alt community for wearing kandi and a gir hoodie and calling it scene. like first of all most of the time when i see this happening its ppl significantly older than the person their criticizing, so it will be a like 17 yo yelling at a middle schooler  on tik tok for calling something scene that wasn't 100 percent authentic 2000s scene. and i understand that the scene community has always been a little bit toxic but usually the same older ppl crying about kids not dressing perfectly scene are the same ppl crying about how this style is dying. and also style can change a little bit over time especially in like 26 ish years and the thing is "modern scene/ scenecore" isn't even that insanely different from og scene. -thats kinda all i have to say at this particular moment but i am aware there are many other parts of this topic that i haven't covered - stay safe yall and stay weird <3
