i will never judge the children who'll be nostalgic for the pandemic

in a time where socialization is getting more and more fucked up, its harder to make friends or insert yourself in a group, how could you not yearn for a time like the pandemic? when u were in quarantine and everything u needed to do could be done through the internet? 

myself, i didnt have much of a good time during it but as a teen that had just started hrt and was struggling with how i present myself and my own femininity, quarantine was a much needed reset button. i was stuck home, my friends were stuck home, and i had time to prepare myself for when life would come back to normal. it was like having an anime timeskip irl for me, i came out of it more like the woman i wanted to be

and maybe it could be the same for these children, yk? the reset button they need to work on themselves. ofc most wouldn't think about the mishaps and how it would fuck up their mental health, but do we really think about these things when reminiscing about our own nostalgic periods? i love the 2000s but i can recognize it was a shitty time to live. my rights weren't expanded upon yet, many people suffered with the war on terror and the '08 crisis... it wasn't good but we never really think about that, we just think about the nintendo wii, the clothing and movies. and i think that's fine really

that's what these children will think about when they grow up. they wont think of the deaths, of trump, bolsonaro or whatever right-wing leader your country had; they'll think about early tiktok, discord, the nintendo switch, the music. and that's ok prolly
